‘Dracorex Hogwartsia’
You may have heard about the new dinosaur discovered about 5 years ago called 'Dracorex Hogwartsia'
(DRAY-co rex HOG-wart-see-uh) Rumors say a school kid named it, and that rumor is positively true!!! Dracorex Hogwartsia translates roughly to “Dragon King of Hogwarts'. It is actually a type of pachycephalosaurid (PA-key-sef-u-la-soar-id), Dracorex's skull has many different features both advanced and older. For instance, like it's ancestors, it had a long snout with many rows of spikes around it's skull. But , surprisingly, it has no dome on the top of it's head. Once the scientists found Dracorex, they asked the first students that saw it to name it for them. The skull of Dracorex is currently in the 'Children's Museum of Indianapolis'. It's teeth show that it may have been an omnivore ( an omnivore is something that eats both meat and plants.) Dracorex would be the very first omnivorous dinosaur ever!!! The skull has unusual bumps and spikes. These spikes may have been a form of protection ( Could YOU chomp that? I think not!! At least, I hope not), or just for show, they're not sure. Whatever the use, these bumps and spikes give Draco a very dragon-ish appearance( add wings and poof, 66 million year old dino-dragon!), Dracorex Hogwartsia is by far the most unusual of all the dinosaurs!!!
